Video Transfer

Transfer Audio to CD

The main advantage in converting your old compact audio tapes into a digital format is that you stop any further degradation in audio quality. Some of the other benefits are that they can be stored on a CD for instant access, loaded onto your computer, converted into MP3 format, uploaded onto the Internet. They are also easily E-mailed to family and friends.

There are several options that we can provide:-

  1. We can do a straight transfer of your recording from tape to a CD-R disc. These discs are suitable for playing in a standard CD player or on a home computer equipped with a CD ROM drive. A standard CD is limited to approximately 74 minutes of audio.
  2. MP3 files. These files are suitable for playing on a home computer. MP3 files are compressed and their relatively small size makes them ideal for loading on the Internet. Some DVD/CD players can play CD discs containing MP3 files.
  3. WAV files. WAV files are simply files containing the raw audio data. Whilst these files can be played on a home computer they are not usable by CD or DVD players. Since WAV files are considerably larger than MP3 files you may be wondering why anyone would want WAV. The reason is simply that MP3 files are compressed using a lossy algorithm. Whilst this algorithm is very good the quality is still not quite as good as a WAV file.
