Real Media Video
RealMedia Video is a video streaming format that is designed to be placed directly into your Internet Web Pages. RealMedia video files can be encoded with multiple video streams of varying quality - the stream played is automatically selected by the web server and is primarily based on the users connection speed.
We have found that Real Media Video files encoded for Dial-up, Single ISDN, Dual ISDN and 256KB DSL/Cable give reasonable results.

Windows Media Video
Windows Media Video is a streaming video format developed by
Microsoft. Like the RealMeda files it also varies the playback
quality based on the viewers Internet connection speed.

MPEG-1
MPEG-1 is a video compression standard developed by the Motion Picture
Experts Group. MPEG-1 is not a streaming format and needs to be
downloaded in its entirety before it can be played. These files are
commonly seen on the Internet and it is also the same format as used
by Video CDs.

MPEG-2
MPEG-2 is a newer video compression standard developed by the Motion
Picture Experts Group. MPEG-2, in common with MPEG-1, is not a
streaming format and needs to be downloaded in its entirety before it
can be played. These files are commonly seen on the Internet and it is
also the same format as used by DVDs and Super Video CDs.
