MPEG-2 is a newer video compression standard developed by the Motion Picture Experts Group. MPEG-2, in common with MPEG-1, is not a streaming format and needs to be downloaded in its entirety before it can be played. These files are commonly seen on the Internet and it is also the same format as used by DVDs and Super Video CDs. |
